Milky Way Transformer Supplies Tin Bath Dry-Type Transformers for Guizhou Qianbo Yongtai Float Glass Project

Milky Way Transformer Co., Ltd. (formerly Wansheng Transformer) has supplied tin bath dry-type transformers for the Guizhou Qianbo Yongtai float glass project. The relevant equipment was delivered to the project site in batches in August 2021, supporting the tin bath electric heating system of the Phase I "one furnace, two lines" float glass production lines and providing dedicated power supply for the glass forming process.

Guizhou Qianbo Yongtai New Materials Co., Ltd. was founded in 2020, located in Lubi Economic Development Zone, Lushan Town, Kaili City, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is a new materials enterprise integrating glass R&D, production and sales. The project is constructed in phases. Phase I focuses on high-quality float glass, with production layout of ultra-thick special glass and ultra-thin electronic glass, forming an important foundation for the park’s glass manufacturing business.

The Phase I project adopts a "one furnace, two lines" production layout. According to the process introduction released by the owner, after the molten glass completes melting and other processes in the furnace, it flows through two glass channels into respective tin baths to form glass ribbons, which then enter corresponding annealing and cold end processing sections. This layout connects the shared melting section with two forming and processing lines, meeting the production demands of different glass products.

In addition to production line construction, Phase I is also equipped with supporting facilities such as waste heat power generation and environmental treatment, and integrates raw material resources including dolomite and quartz sand as well as processing and beneficiation links. Raw material supply, float glass production and energy utilization facilities together form the project’s supporting system, creating conditions for the park’s glass manufacturing operations.

The Qianbo Yongtai float glass production line was ignited and put into operation on September 29, 2021. With the completion of Phase I, the company has gradually expanded its market within Guizhou and surrounding regions, and tapped into the demand of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. A report by Kaili Media Center in July 2022 showed that Qianbo Yongtai had set up an office in Foshan, with glass products continuously delivered to the local market, establishing a business link between the Guizhou manufacturing base and the South China market.

The tin bath is a key forming equipment in float glass production lines, where molten glass spreads on the surface of tin liquid to form a continuous glass ribbon. The tin bath electric heating system participates in temperature regulation during this process, requiring precise matching with heating loads and control systems. Tin bath dry-type transformer, also known as tin bath electric heating transformer, undertakes the power matching function and is a dedicated supporting device in the tin bath electric heating system of float glass production.

For the Guizhou Qianbo Yongtai project, Milky Way Transformer developed transformer solutions tailored to the tin bath electric heating demands of the two production lines, and organized equipment manufacturing, packaging, transportation and delivery in accordance with project requirements. The relevant equipment arrived at the site in two batches and passed acceptance in August 2021, aligning with the construction schedule of the Phase I float glass production lines.

The Guizhou Qianbo Yongtai project represents another application case of Milky Way Transformer in the "one furnace, two lines" float glass production scenario. Focusing on the demands of new construction, cold repair and technical renovation of glass production lines, the company provides tin bath dry-type transformers and other glass industry-specific transformers, aligning product configuration with specific processes and on-site installation conditions to serve the power supply needs of glass manufacturing projects.
