Milky Way Transformer Supplies Tin Bath Dry-Type Transformers for Xinyi Glass Yingkou Phase II Project

Publication date:2022-11-30

Milky Way Transformer Co., Ltd. (formerly Wansheng Transformer) has supplied tin bath dry-type transformers for the Phase II energy-saving base glass (float glass) production line project of Xinyi Glass (Yingkou) Co., Ltd. The relevant equipment was delivered in November 2022, dedicated to the tin bath electric heating system of the float glass production line and supporting the power supply demand of the glass forming process.

Xinyi Glass Yingkou Industrial Park is located in the Binhai Industrial Zone of Yingkou Economic and Technological Development Zone, Liaoning Province, serving as Xinyi Glass’ production base in Northeast China. Established in 2011, the park covers an area of approximately 580,000 square meters, mainly producing high-quality float glass and energy-efficient architectural glass according to the owner’s official website. The Phase II project is an expansion based on the existing base, further improving the integrated layout of float glass substrate production and coating deep processing.

The Xinyi Glass Yingkou Phase II Project, situated in the Binhai Emerging Industrial Park, is a reconstruction and expansion initiative. According to the project approval released by the Department of Ecology and Environment of Liaoning Province, the project constructs a new energy-saving base glass (float glass) production line with an annual output of 280,000 tons of high-quality float glass, supported by a raw material center workshop, a joint workshop and a low-emissivity (Low-E) glass production line. The product portfolio covers both float glass substrate supply and coating deep processing, aligning with downstream application demands such as energy-efficient architectural glass.

Beyond glass production facilities, the Phase II construction plan also integrates waste heat power generation, photovoltaic power generation and related public utilities, and upgrades part of the environmental protection facilities of the Phase I project. The integrated arrangement of float glass production, coating deep processing and energy utilization facilities reflects the base’s coordinated planning of product processing and supporting infrastructure during expansion.

The project achieved substantial construction progress afterwards. A report published on the Yingkou Municipal Government website in December 2023 confirmed that the Xinyi Glass Phase II project was completed and put into operation that year. The completion of Phase II has effectively enhanced the float glass production and deep processing capacity of the Yingkou base.

Tin bath dry-type transformer, also referred to as tin bath electric heating transformer, is dedicated power supply equipment for the tin bath electric heating system in float glass production lines. The tin bath is a core section for float glass forming, and its electric heating system must be precisely aligned with the process requirements of each heating zone. Tin bath transformers undertake the power matching function, connecting with the power regulation system and heating loads to provide stable power support for temperature control during the glass forming process.

For the Xinyi Glass Yingkou Phase II project, Milky Way Transformer’s supply scope focused on the supporting tin bath electric heating transformers. Based on the project’s heating load parameters and installation conditions, the company carried out customized product configuration, and organized equipment manufacturing, packaging, transportation and technical documentation handover in sequence. The relevant tin bath dry-type transformers arrived at the Yingkou project site and passed acceptance in November 2022, seamlessly connecting with subsequent production line construction work.

This project adds another representative case to Milky Way Transformer’s track record in the field of tin bath electric heating for float glass. The company remains committed to providing tin bath dry-type transformers and other glass industry-specific transformers for new construction, cold repair and technical renovation of glass production lines, delivering full-cycle services covering design, manufacturing and delivery tailored to specific process requirements and on-site conditions.
